Weathering is the breaking down or dissolving of rocks and minerals on Earths surface

( 7b)

Carbonation is the process of rock minerals reacting with carbonic acid. ... of a relatively weathering resistant mineral, feldspar. When this mineral is completely hydrolyzed, clay minerals and quartz are produced and such elements as K, Ca, or Na are released

carbonation occurs when CO₂ from the atmosphere slowly enters concrete over time, reacting with some of the reaction products of cement hydration and water in the pores (i.e., small pockets in the structure of hardened concrete

(bii)

Hydrolysis: - the breakdown of rock by acidic water to produce clay and soluble salts

( 7c)

Temperature changes can also contribute to mechanical weathering in a process called thermal stress.

Changes in temperature cause rock to expand (with heat) and contract (with cold). As this happens over and over again, the structure of the rock weakens. Over time, it crumbles..

During a lunar eclipse, when the Earth is between the sun and the moon, they identified the shadow of the Earth on the moon. As the shadow moves across the moon it is round. This would suggest that the Earth is a sphere.
