The event brought together students from all classes and houses, with each house fielding their best athletes in different sporting disciplines such as football, basketball, volleyball, track and field events, and many others. The houses that competed were Blue, Red, Yellow, and Green. Each house had been preparing for the competition for weeks, with training sessions held regularly to ensure that the athletes were in peak physical condition.
The first day of the competition began with a march past, where each house showcased their best drill displays. It was an excellent display of teamwork, coordination, and discipline, with each house putting in their best efforts. After the march past, the competition commenced with the track and field events. The events were keenly contested, with athletes from each house pushing themselves to the limit to win their respective races.
On the second day, the other sporting disciplines took center stage. The basketball, football, and volleyball games were highly competitive, with each house striving to emerge victorious. CONCERNS OVER THE LACK OF MAINTENANCE OF PUBLIC FACILITIES
Dear sir,
I write to express my deep concern regarding the persisting issue of the neglect and inadequate maintenance of public facilities across our nation. It is disheartening to witness the sorry state of these essential assets that are meant to serve the public, and I believe it is high time we address this pressing matter.
First and foremost, the neglect of public facilities has a significant impact on the quality of life for citizens. Parks, 'copied from e x a m p l a z a . c o m free' playgrounds, community centers, and other public spaces are meant to foster a sense of community and provide recreational opportunities for individuals of all ages. However, due to the lack of maintenance, these facilities have become dilapidated, unsafe, and unsightly, discouraging their use and depriving people of valuable spaces for leisure and social interaction.
Moreover, the deterioration of public facilities poses potential risks to public health and safety. Crumbling infrastructure, broken equipment, and unkempt surroundings can create hazardous conditions, leading to accidents and injuries. The lack of regular inspections, repairs, and upgrades further exacerbates the risks, making it imperative for authorities to take immediate action to ensure the well-being of the public.
Furthermore, the neglect of public facilities sends a discouraging message about our society’s priorities. Public spaces are a reflection of our collective values and commitment to the well-being of our communities. When these spaces are allowed to decay, it conveys a lack of concern and respect for public resources and undermines the sense of civic pride. It is essential that we preserve and enhance these spaces, as they contribute to the overall development and happiness of our citizens.
To address this issue, a collaborative effort between government bodies, local communities, and concerned citizens is crucial. Firstly, adequate funding must be allocated to support regular maintenance and upgrades of public facilities. This can be achieved through budgetary allocations, public-private partnerships, and community-driven initiatives. Additionally, it is vital to establish a comprehensive system for regular inspections and maintenance, ensuring that repairs are promptly undertaken and preventive measures are implemented.
Furthermore, citizen engagement plays a pivotal role in maintaining public facilities. Encouraging community participation through volunteer programs, awareness campaigns, and partnerships with local organizations can foster a sense of ownership and responsibility among citizens, leading to better maintenance and utilization of these spaces.
In conclusion, the lack of maintenance of public facilities is a pressing concern that demands immediate attention. By recognizing the importance of these spaces, allocating adequate resources, and promoting community involvement, we can restore and revitalize our public facilities, creating environments that enhance the quality of life and strengthen the social fabric of our nation.

THE IMPORTANCE OF REVIVING THE ACTIVITIES OF CLUBS AND SOCIETIES IN SCHOOLS
As secondary school students, we often find ourselves busy with academics, homework, and exams. However, it is important to remember that school is not just about academics; it is also about extracurricular activities, including clubs and societies. Unfortunately, in recent years, the activities of clubs and societies in schools have been declining, and this is a cause for concern. In this article, we will explore the need to revive the activities of clubs and societies in schools and why they are important.
Firstly, clubs and societies are a great way for students to explore their interests and develop their talents. There are clubs and societies for almost everything, from music to drama, science to debate, and more. When students join these clubs and societies, they have the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals who share their interests and passions. This creates a sense of belonging and fosters a supportive community, which is important for students’ mental health and wellbeing.
Secondly, clubs and societies provide students with opportunities to develop important life skills. For example, students who join a debate club learn how to research, form arguments, and communicate effectively. Students who join a music club learn how to work in a team, collaborate with others, and develop their creative skills. These skills are valuable not just in school but also in 'copied from e x a m p l a z a . c o m free' the workplace and in life.
Thirdly, clubs and societies help to build school spirit and promote a sense of pride in the school. When students participate in clubs and societies, they often represent the school at competitions and events. This gives them a sense of pride in their school and motivates them to do their best. Additionally, when students see their peers participating in clubs and societies, they are inspired to do the same, which helps to build a strong and vibrant school community.
Despite the many benefits of clubs and societies, the activities of these groups have been declining in recent years. There are many reasons for this decline, including increased academic pressures, a lack of funding and resources, and a lack of student interest. However, it is important to recognize that the decline of clubs and societies is a problem that needs to be addressed.
So, what can be done to revive the activities of clubs and societies in schools? Firstly, schools need to provide more resources and support for these groups. This could include funding for equipment and materials, access to facilities, and support from teachers and staff. Schools could also consider offering incentives for students who participate in clubs and societies, such as academic credit or recognition for their achievements.
Secondly, schools should work to promote the benefits of clubs and societies to students. This could involve hosting information sessions, inviting guest 'copied from e x a m p l a z a . c o m free' speakers, or creating promotional materials. By highlighting the benefits of these groups, schools can encourage more students to participate and get involved.
In conclusion, the activities of clubs and societies in schools are important and should be revived. These groups provide students with opportunities to explore their interests, develop important life skills, and build school spirit. To revive the activities of these groups, schools need to provide more resources and support, and work to promote the benefits of clubs and societies to students. By doing so, we can create a vibrant and supportive school community that fosters growth and development for all students.

Contentment is the essence of a harmonious life. When we are greedy, we wish to possess more things. In the process of acquiring it, we tend to loose what little we have with us and end up with nothing. When we have a bird at hand, it is better to be happy with it. There is no point in aiming for two birds in the bush which you may not be able to capture.
Once upon a time, there was a hunter who was very fond of hunting birds. He was very skilful in using his bow and arrow. He would often go into the forest and hunt down birds by the dozen and sell them all in the town market for a huge price. One day on one of his hunting expeditions, the hunter found a deer roaming around and wanted to hunt it down since it would fetch him a good price. So he came back the next day and set a trap for the deer. The unsuspecting deer got caught in the trap.
Meanwhile the hunter saw a few birds up in a nearby tree and went about hunting them. The deer knew that it had to do something before the hunter returned. Unfortunately, the hunter was not able to hunt even a single bird that day and was disappointed. He was however elated on seeing the deer caught in the trap and jumped of joy. The deer lay very still and pretended to be dead. The hunter came close to the deer and when it did not move he assumed that it had died. He wanted to carry the deer as soon as possible to the market so that he could sell its meat and make lot of money. He decided to fetch some logs to tie up 'copied from e x a m p l a z a . c o m free' the deer and carry it home. The deer lay very still waiting for the opportune moment to escape.
The hunter released the trap from the deer’s legs and was beginning to tie the deer on to the logs when he heard a rustling sound. He looked up and found a beautiful bird sitting atop a tree branch. The greedy hunter immediately wanted to shoot the bird down. Thinking that the deer was dead, he quietly stood up and took aim at the bird with his bow and arrow. When the deer realized that the hunter’s concentration was now on the bird, it leapt up and ran away into the forest at full speed. Hearing the noise, the hunter turned around and was shocked to find the deer disappearing into the forest. He blamed himself for his greediness, and realized that truly, "half a loaf is better than none".
He missed his aim and the bird too flew away when it heard all the commotion. It was then that the hunter realized that his greed had made him lose both the deer and the bird and he had to return empty handed that day. He blamed himself for his greediness and immediately he realized that truly, "half a loaf is better than none".
