A.Due to the Fall and Corruption of Solomon
This division was due to the fall and corruption of Solomon (vv. 9-13). In verse 11 Jehovah said to Solomon, "Because you have done this and have not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to your servant."
B. The Kingdom of God’s Elect
Being Split into Two
The kingdom of God’s elect was split into two: the southern kingdom, the kingdom of Judah, of one tribe (vv. 13, 36) and the northern kingdom, the kingdom of Israel, of ten tribes (v. 35). Judah was genuine, but Israel was a division in apostasy.
II. THE REIGN OF REHOBOAM OVER JUDAH
OF ONE TRIBE
The reign of Rehoboam over Judah was a reign over just one tribe (v. 43b; 12:1-24; 14:21-31a).
A. Rehoboam Being a Son of Solomon
Born of an Ammonitess
Rehoboam, a son of Solomon, was born of an Ammonitess (14:21, 31).
B. Continuing the Reign after Solomon
Rehoboam continued the reign after Solomon (11:43b).
C. Suffering the Division of the Kingdom
and Losing Ten Tribes
In 12:1-24 we see that Rehoboam suffered the division of the kingdom and lost ten tribes.

As Prophet Amos prophesied to the people of Israel, Amaziah, the Priest of Bethel felt very uncomfortable.
As a result, he sent messages to Jeroboam, the king of Israel, indicating that Amos had conspired against him. According to Amaziah, the land was unable to contain the words that Amos had spoken to the people. For instance, Amaziah accused Amos of saying that Jeroboam was going to die by the sword and that Israel was going to be taken into exile, away from their land.
Amaziah edged Amos to leave Israel and go to the land of Judah and prophesied there and also earn his living there. His reason was that, Israel was the king’s sanctuary and a temple of the kingdom.
Amos replied that he was not a prophet. Neither was he a prophet’s son. He was just a shepherd and a dresser of sycamore tree. He said, God called him away from following the flock and to prophesy to the people of Israel.
For opposing prophesies against Israel and for saying that there should be no preaching against the house of Isaac, Amos made some pronouncements against him. He said the wife of Amaziah was going to become a harlot in the city. His sons and daughters shall die by the sword. Israel shall be divided into pieces using lines. Amos said Amaziah was going to die in an unclean land. Finally, he reiterated that Israel was going to go into exile.

The baptism of Jesus was recorded in the book Of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John. But according to how it was recorded by St. Matthew, we see that Jesus approaches John and asks to be baptized. John has been proclaiming the Gospel and baptizing those who repent of their sin, want to make right their relationship with God and await the coming of the Messiah. John is astonished that Jesus, the sinless Son of God, is asking to be baptized and John feels like he should be the one asking Jesus to baptize him. Jesus tells John that his baptism is "fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness". Jesus is baptized as a symbol is giving His will up to his Father and the beginning of His earthly ministry. When Jesus comes up out of the water, John sees the spirit of God descend like a dove upon Jesus and they hear God's voice from heaven say "This is my son, the beloved whom I have approved".
(4b)
(i) The baptism by John was for forgiveness of sins. Christ was without sin, yet, He went to John to be baptised to show believers that baptism is necessary for the new life they will live in Christ
(ii) Baptism of Jesus Christ marked the public confirmation of the Messiahship of Jesus Christ when a voice was heard from heaven saying "This is my beloved son in whom i am well pleased
(iii) Christ being in the flesh was prone to temptation to sin but the Holy spirit of God tha came upon him after the baptism helped Him to overcome temptation and to do the will of God all through.

Answer: Jesus uses the phrase “living water†in two instances in the Bible. The first instance is found in John chapter 4. Jesus was tired and sat at a well while His disciples went into town to buy food. A Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus asked her for a drink. The Samaritan woman was quite shocked because Jesus was a Jew, and Jews simply hated the Samaritans. Of course, she had no idea who Jesus was and asked Him how He could ask her for water since He was a Jew.
Jesus ignored the question and went right to the point, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water†(John 4:10). Notice that He does not say that He is the living water, but that He would give living water to her, and when she received it, she would never thirst again. Of course, that does not tell us what the living water is! For that, we must go to another passage of Scripture. In this case, Jesus is in the temple surrounded by a throng of worshippers. He suddenly cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scriptures said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’ But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified†(John 7:37–39, emphasis added).
Here Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as the living water. External influence of the Spirit had always been given in the conversion and sanctification of the Old Testament saints and prophets, but the gift of the Spirit who would indwell believers had not yet been received (Acts 10:44–45). So, though many people say that Jesus is the living water, Jesus Himself intended the phrase to mean the Holy Spirit who dwells in believers and seals them for salvation (Ephesians 1:13–14). It is the ministry of the Spirit, flowing out of a heart redeemed by God, that blesses believers and, through them, brings life and light to the world.
