-In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
-The earth was formless, and the spirit of God hovered on the face of the waters.
-God commanded the light to appear on the formless, empty, and dark earth.
-He then separated the light from the darkness and called the light day and the darkness night.
-Again, God made the expanse and separated the waters under the expanse from the water above and called it sky.
-The water below the expanse was then gathered to one place to create dry ground.
-The dry ground God called land and the gathered water, seas.
-God then caused the land to produce vegetation of plants bearing seeds according to their kind and trees bearing fruits.
-Further, God created the seasons, days and years, and lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth.
-God made two great lights- the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night.
-This was followed by the creation of the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing.
-Every winged bird according to its kind was also created to fly across the expanse of the sky.
-The creatures of the sea and the birds were commanded to increase in number to fill the water in the sea and the earth respectively.
-Livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals were also created.
-God then created man in His own image and likeness to rule 'copied from e x a m p l a z a . c o m free' over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and all creatures.
-God blessed the man and woman to be fruitful and increase in number to fill the earth and subdue it.

Deborah played harlotry against God, thus the Lord sold them to king Jabin of Canaan to attack them as a punishment. Canaan punished Israel for a period of 40 years. Then Israel repented and cried to God for help. Deborah, a prophetess and wife of Lappidoth was called by God to deliver Israel. To do this, Deborah summoned Barak to raise an army of 10,000 against Jabin's army led by Sisera. Barak insisted that he would not go unless Deborah went with him. Deborah consented, but warned that the Lord would sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. Deborah arose and went with Barak to the battle front to ensure God's presence and victory. When Sisera was told that Barak had gone up to mount Tabor, he advanced with his army to attack him. Deborah ordered Barak to launch an attack on Sisera and Sisera and his army were routed. Sisera escaped and took refuge in the house of Jael where he was murdered.

After the conversion of Cornelius, the brethren in Judea learnt that the Gentiles had received the word of God through Peter. Because of this, Peter was challenged for mingling and eating with the uncircumcised Gentiles in Caesarea. Peter took time to explain how he was in a trance in Joppa and saw all sorts of animals let down in a great sheet and he was asked to kill and eat. He refused the order for three times saying that, nothing common or unclean had ever entered his month. He was for each time told not to call what God had created common or unclean.
After this, three men from Caesarea met him and told him that Cornelius had sent them. He was told by the spirit of God to accompany them and not to make any distinction. On their arrival and after Cornelius' explanation, Peter addressed the audience, declaring that God was no respecter of persons, but those that feared Him and did what was right from every nation, would be acceptable to Him. Hardly had he completed his address when the Holy Spirit descended on Cornelius and his friends, and they spoke in tongues. They were baptized. The council members were perplexed by what they heard and they kept silence. They praised God for granting salvation to the gentiles.
The defence of Peter was enough to silence his critics who then gave praise to God. God had given the Gentiles the Holy Spirit as He did to the apostles without any distinction. The conclusion therefore, 'copied from e x a m p l a z a . c o m free' was that the Gentiles should not be heavily yoked. The council passed a resolution on the matter and so the question of circumcision of the Gentiles was settled once and for all.

(i) James admonished Christians to show no partiality to anyone (rich or poor) but to accept others as they are equal before God.
(ii)They are ambassadors of Christ and hold the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ.
(iii) As an example, James pointed out that a man who is well dressed and the poor man in shabby clothes should be treated equally.
(iv) If preferential treatment is given to the rich man over the poor man, then one is guilty of partiality.
(v) Showing partiality is not only causing division but also, assuming the role of judges with evil intentions or thought.
(vi) To this end, no distinction should be made among Christians, for God does not make distinctions.
(vii) James further taught that God has chosen the poor in the world to be rich in faith and to become heirs of the kingdom.
(viii) In showing partiality, the poor man has been dishonoured.
(ix) The rich who is honoured and favoured when shown partiality is the one who oppresses the poor and drags him to court.
(x) Worst still, the rich blasphemes the honourable name of God..
(xi) To this end, it is imperative to fulfill the royal law which states that one should love ones' neighbour as oneself.
(xii) When one commits partiality, one commits sin and is convicted by the law
(xiii) He who keeps all but one law fails in all.
(xiv) To illustrate this, James said that God ordered Christians not to commit adultery 'copied from e x a m p l a z a . c o m free' and at the same time not to kill.
(xv) However, breaking one of them will make one guilty of violating all aspects of the law. Both the adulterer and the murderer are transgressors.
(xvi) Therefore Christians should speak and act like those cognizance of the law.
(xvii) For judgment is without mercy to one who shows no mercy.
(xviii) However, mercy triumphs over judgment/justice is tempered with mercy.
